Mahvash Yazdi is Senior vice president and chief information officer of Edison International and Southern California Edison. With extensive business experience in the technology, engineering and manufacturing industries, Mrs. Yazdi provides strategic direction to drive business performance and growth through information technology for the nation's second largest investor-owned utility company.

Mrs. Yazdi oversees Edison's information technology resources to enhance customer services, operational excellence, employee effectiveness, decision support, and overall business agility. Mrs. Yazdi has developed an organization capable of information systems planning, architecture, integration; and infrastructure development and management. In 1998, through her efforts Edison's information technology organization was ranked 29th on Computerworld's list of the 100 Best Places to Work in IT (information technology). Mrs. Yazdi is also responsible for establishing a new telecommunications wholesale business to aggressively pursue a broad range of services to the telecommunications service providers.

Before joining Edison, Mahvash spent 17 years with Hughes Aircraft Company, most recently as vice president and chief information officer. Mahvash has also held leadership positions in marketing and strategic planning for IBM World Trade Corporation.

Mrs. Yazdi graduated with honors from University of Southern California with an MBA, and received a BS with honors in Industrial Management from California Polytechnic University, Pomona. She also completed the Management of Information Technology program at Harvard Business School.
