Mahvash Yazdi is the President of Feasible Management Consulting and an advisory board member for H.I.G Capital and Infosys where she provides strategic consulting in energy, and technology. She formerly served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Edison International and Hughes Aircraft Company. Yazdi’s work and experience span over three industries and continents and draws from 38 years of experience.
Mahvash is nationally recognized as an expert in corporate information technology. She served as Co-Chair for the Edison Electric Institute CIO Executive Advisory Committee which focuses on emerging technology issues of critical concern to the energy industry. In that capacity she was leading the industry by forming public/private partnerships with the regulatory bodies and legislators to address cyber security, utility telecommunication needs, and privacy challenges. She successfully oversaw the delivery of more than 500 business and technology projects valued at over $2 billion including the technical development of the industry-leading programs of SAP, Edison smart meters and smart grid.
Yazdi earned her M.B.A. from the University of Southern California and is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society. She received her B.S. in industrial management from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona with honors. She also completed the Management of Information Technology program at Harvard Business School. Mahvash and her husband, Farrok live in Palos Verdes, California, and are parents of two grown children and three grandchildren.
Active in supporting higher education and civic organizations, Yazdi is a trustee for the American University in Paris. In 2011-12, she chaired a fundraising effort which raised $250,000 for the homeless community in Los Angeles. She served as an advisory board member for the University of Southern California, Business School and also served as a trustee for the Claremont Colleges. Mahvash works directly with the President and Dean of School of Business at California Polytechnic University, Pomona, and was instrumental in creating a Cyber Security lab for the Cal Poly Business School. She is also a member of the International Women's Forum, a global organization of preeminent women with significant achievements and influence. Mahvash is also a past Board member for Apria HealthCare Group, a publicly held corporation.
Mahvash joined Edison International in 1997, at the beginning of California energy deregulation to serve as a key executive strategist in shaping the future of the company. In this role, she transformed the Information Technology organization, which employed over 3000 professionals in 2012 into one recognized nationally as one of the 100 most innovative companies by the CIO magazine, and one of the 100 best Places to Work in IT for fourteen consecutive years by the Computerworld magazine.
Mahvash received a host of honors and awards, including the 2010, Intelligent Utility CIO of the year award.
In 2007, Mahvash received the prestigious Ellis Island Medal of Honor for exemplifying a life dedicated to service.
